Bobby Acri is a jazz saxophonist and composer from Winnetka, Illinois, known for his soulful tone, lyrical phrasing, and deep connection to the Chicago jazz tradition. A graduate of the DePaul University School of Music, Bobby has become a fixture in Chicago’s live music scene, performing at renowned venues such as The Green Mill, Andy’s Jazz Club, and Winter’s Jazz Club. Leading his own quartet, Bobby blends classic bebop energy with contemporary flair, creating music that feels both timeless and original. His acclaimed debut album, North of Blue, showcases his melodic storytelling and emotional depth, with original compositions inspired by life along the North Shore and the rhythm of Chicago itself. A dedicated performer and bandleader, Bobby’s artistry reflects a lifelong respect for the greats — from John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins to Joshua Redman and Kamasi Washington — while carving out a voice uniquely his own.
